Professor John Miles is Director of Research in Transitional Energy Strategies at Cambridge University Engineering Department.
John’s research interests lie in exploring the transitional pathways which might take us from today’s balance of energy demand and supply to that balance in future which will satisfy the conflicting requirements of universal provision, environmental protection, security, and affordability. Current themes are Energy Strategy, Energy Storage and Distribution, Transport and Electric Vehicles.
Prior to his appointment in Cambridge, John was a senior member of Arup Group where he served on the Group’s Main Board for 17 years.
