Joan Lasenby is Professor of Image and Signal Analysis at Cambridge University Department of Engineering and Lecturer and Director of Studies in Engineering, Trinity College. She received her undergraduate BA degree and Part III qualification, in Mathematics from Trinity College, Cambridge. Her PhD was in Radio and Molecular Studies of the Galactic Centre at the Mullard Radio Astronomy Observatory (now the Astrophysics Group), Cavendish Laboratories, University of Cambridge.

Her research interests include the following areas, Motion Capture, Geometric Algebra, Structured Light Plethysmography (SLP), Inertial Navigation and Gait and Rehabilitation.
