Dr Adam Gripton

Adam is Assistant Professor at Heriot Watt University in the Centre for Sustainable Road Freight and is responsible for development of mathematical models and algorithms for green logistics operations, in particular the MILES modelling environment system (Multimodal Integrated Logistics Evaluation Simulation). He joined Heriot-Watt University in 2018 after spending six years at QinetiQ as a software engineer in complex system analysis and design for survivability.

Adam completed his PhD at Heriot-Watt in 2011 in pattern classification with missing data, and he has further research experience in uncertainty quantification and inverse methods. His research interests include operational resilience and robustness, network analysis, and transportation systems. He holds Chartered Mathematician (CMath) status from the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications (IMA).
