Design, build and testing of a lightweight aerodynamic trailer on a fleet operation.

  • Lightweight aerodynamic trailer designed and built, with a basket of aerodynamic improvements plus various light-weighting strategies for frame, walls and floor panels and rear doors.
  • Preliminary results show useful fuel savings – to be confirmed by finalised analysis.
  • Design has significant reduction in weight (up to 2 tonnes) but needs to be finalised.
