Cambridge Engineering PhD student Parth Deshpande has been awarded the 2023 Helios Prize for his research into electrification of road freight.
Parth’s winning co-authored research paper is titled A breakeven cost analysis framework for electric road systems and is published in the journal Transportation Research Part D: Transport and Environment. The paper investigates the conditions for which an ‘electric road system’ is a financially attractive solution to long-haul road freight in various countries and geographies. It is part of Parth’s PhD project that is investigating a harmonized international system for road freight electrification.
