The Centre for Sustainable Road Freight invites you to the second International Workshop on Sustainable Road Freight Transport.
Reduction of GHG emissions from road freight transport represents a significant challenge with multiple technical, operational and political aspects. Designing, testing and implementing effective interventions (managerial or technical), and appropriate policy measures needs multi-disciplinary, multi-country research.
This workshop is an opportunity for academics and practitioners from all related fields to take part in a debate of these issue: to shape the research agenda and to network with key research groups from around the world.
After the success of the first International Workshop on Sustainable Road Freight in September 2014, the second workshop will discuss technology, logistics and infrastructural perspectives on sustainable road freight transport in order to develop roadmaps for future research. Its ambition is to create an international network of researchers working on all aspects of sustainable road freight transport, and to facilitate collaborative research amongst the gathered community.
The workshop will commence with a keynote addresses on future research needs and the policy agenda from the European Union perspective. This will be followed by discussions of future developments in vehicle and system engineering, logistics management, transport infrastructure and related information flows necessary to address the sustainability challenge. The workshop will conclude with a session aimed at synthesizing the ideas into research roadmaps for long-haul transport and urban distribution.
